Sarah Flores
[Artist, Production, Teacher]
Sarah is an enthusiastic artist who is always looking for opportunities to create visual art in all forms, with a primary focus in live performance.
Sarah has a Bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Media from Texas Lutheran University.
She is currently the Production Mentor at Stages in Houston, Texas. The program is centered around increasing the diversity of theater technicians by providing a specific, paid opportunity for learning for BIPOC, trans, and other traditionally marginalized people early in their career. The mentorship is a year-long full time position for anyone who is looking to gain professional experience in an educational setting. As the Mentor, Sarah works along side the Production team in all departments (costumes, props, scenery, lights and AV) to create an environment of learning opportunities for the Mentee.
In order to further her experience as a theatre professional, Sarah has worked on several productions in both a professional and educational setting. She completed a year-long production internship at Stages in Houston, Texas in 2019-2020. This opportunity gave her a chance to fill various roles in the professional theatre production world including, but not limited to set building, stage crew, lighting, and even some furniture design experience. As someone who aspires to be a Technical Director, Sarah was able to work closely with the production team and learn the inner workings of a professional theatre.
During her downtime, Sarah enjoys exploring art in other mediums, especially digital art, and painting.
